2013 annual meeting: The HNRN Core Team held its 5th annual meeting on April 12th in Orlando, Florida. We were fortunate to have Dr. Daniel Aalto, from the University of Helsinki, Finland present his latest work on Computational modeling of vowel acoustics based on medical imaging of the vocal tract. Dr. Aalto's long term goal is to determine if speech outcomes can be predicted based on pre-operative medical imaging and speech recordings.

Dr. Aalto is the first presenter in a series of invited guest lecturers for all HNRN annual general meetings to stimulate innovative ideas and engage the team in the development of new research questions.
