About HNRN

The Head and Neck Research Network (HNRN) is an organization that is dedicated to advancing treatment for head and neck cancer patients through international, multi-disciplinary functional outcomes research.

It was founded at the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM) in Edmonton, AB, Canada, in January 2008 by three partnering international centers: iRSM and the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; University of Turku and Turku University Hospital in Turku, Finland; and Mount Sinai Beth Israel and the THANC (Thyroid, Head And Neck Cancer) Foundation in New York, New York, USA.

The HNRN has created and maintains a database for functional outcomes measures which allows researchers to participate in collaborative projects on an international scale. Research results are published in peer-reviewed journals.
